Have you ever wanted to photograph wildlife at night? Or have you wanted to use flash photography with nature? Well this workshop is for you. Neil Jernigan is teaming up with friend & fellow wildlife photographer Tim Faulkner. Bringing you a one day classroom workshop, teaching you everything you need to know about using flash photography. The workshop will cover everything from controlling your flash manually, shooting with multiple lights, wireless shooting, how to set up/use a small portable light box and much more.

Cost: $175 per person

Deposit: $75 - must be paid in full when registering for workshop.

Physical Difficulty: Each segment of this work shop will be held in entirely from a BOAT.

Location: This field session workshop will be held on the Neuse River in New Bern, North Carolina.

  • (8:00am-12pm) Workshop begins with slideshow, technique demonstrations

  • (12:00pm) Break for Lunch

  • (1pm-5pm) Photographing with techniques learned from morning class

  • (5:00pm) Workshop end, everyone departs

Once you have confirmed that space is available we will need two things from you in order to make your spot on this workshop official:

  1. A signed and completed registration form which will be emailed to you.

  2. A $75 deposit.

Once your registration and deposit have been received, you will be notified by email.


The deposit is due within 2 weeks of notification of your intent to register for the workshop.

  • What size lenses do I need?

    • We will be photographing wildlife, at close range. We recommend & prefer macro lenses, however, 100mm or wider will do fine. If you would like to contact me to let me know what you have I would be happy to help out.

  • Not included?

    • Meals, photography equipment, vehicle rental

  • What equipment do you recommend to bring?

    • Camera, Flash, remote triggers( if you have them) Normal lens 100mm or wider. Preferably a macro lens.
