Wildlife Refuge Weekend - Birds

North Carolina has 10 wildlife refuges and I visited 4 last week. Pocosin Lakes, Lake Mattamuskeet, Alligator River & Pea Island. Wildlife refuges are one of my favorite locations for photographing wildlife. We decided to head out to get away for a couple days, see the lighthouse and just relax. I was very lucky enough to photograph a lot of different species of animals and most of all birds. This time of year we have a lot of migratory waterfowl, birds of prey and all kinds of others. Here are a few images from each refuge.

National Wildlife refuges are a great place for photographing wildlife. Like I mentioned before, North Carolina has 10, if your interested in photographing at one here is the link to all of them in the United States.
