While visiting Lake Mattamuskeet NWR, I came across several Forster's Terns feeding on small bait fish. The birds had found a small school of fish and were diving in head first after them. The wind was pretty strong which allowed me to photograph them, somewhat easily. They were still pretty hard to photograph but with them flying just above the water, hovering then diving I was able to come home with a few decent photographs. It was a pretty neat experience, I've witnessed this before, just not this close.
