Friday afternoon just as soon as I clocked out of worked I made the 2 1/2 hour trip to the Outer Banks. I met up with the Goldsboro Area Photography Club to photograph the Bodie Island Lighthouse at night. Just as I arrived the sun was beginning to set. I pulled over to the side of the road, jumped on top of the car to create a few photos before the sun completely set.
After the sun dropped below the horizon, I drove up to the lighthouse and took advantage of the beautiful soft evening light.
After sun was gone and the later it got the more stars we saw! Absolutely beautiful evening and well worth the long drive there and back.
On our way home Tim and I made a quick detour through Lake Mattamuskeet.
Don't be afraid to go shoot. It had been a few weeks since I was out photographing and was in need of a trip badly. This is my therapy and boy did I need it! I need to plan another after work trip soon! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
